The OEM chain on the TW200 requires regular care and feeding. In order to get the best longevity out of your TW’s drivetrain, it’s best to lube the chain early and often. While the job is simple enough with a partner nearby to balance the bike on its side stand, it can be tough to do alone. This is where a wheel roller comes in handy.

For about $26, the JFG Racing wheel roller from Amazon.com is a helpful tool. It’s not perfect, but it works well enough to get the job done. The roller was a little smaller than I expected. I do wonder if a slightly larger roller might function a little better. I’d imagine that a smooth wheel would roll freely. The TW200’s large knobby’s didn’t, but they allowed the wheel to turn well enough to get an even coating of lube on the chain.

Would I recommend the the JFG Racing wheel roller? I’d have to say yes. If you’re willing to put up with minor irritations and a little bit of hassle in the name of getting the job done so you can go ride, this roller is probably fine. If you’d like to this job less often, consider upgrading to an “O” or “X” ring chain.
