“Performance” and “Yamaha TW200” are not often uttered in the same sentence. Most TW200 enthusiasts adopt a somewhat holistic approach to this category. Performance is about proper maintenance, minimizing weight, and making small changes that work together to realize modest gains.

For your TW200, performance is going to depend on what your goals are. Perhaps you’re looking for a quicker throttle response, different exhaust note, or more precise braking? Maybe you just like to work on your bike? Chances are, for whatever your performance-related goals happen to be, there will be numerous products available for consideration. We’ve included a few below that others riders have found beneficial.

Air Filter: K&N High Performance Engine Air Filter

Iridium Spark Plug: Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that an iridium plug might make help your TW200 cold-start, idle, and perform a little better.

Chain: I’ve currently got 400 miles on my 2024 TW and I’ve adjusted the stock chain four times to keep it in spec. At the 600 mile service, I’ll be replacing the chain with the DID VX X-Ring Chain. Another option to consider is EK SRO6 428 O-Ring 130L (What’s the difference between and “X” ring chain and an “O” ring chain?)

Carb Jet Kit: According to Procycle, either of their Carb Jet Kits will improve throttle response. Carb Jet Kits are generally required with addition of an aftermarket exhaust.
