The TW’s distinctive balloon tires make it easily recognizable. The stock rear tire, the Bridgestone TrailWing TW34 (180/80-14), is generally regarded as a good option in terms of price, performance, and longevity. The stock front tire, the Bridgestone TrailWing TW31 (130/80-18), is considered by many to be the weak link. Personal preference, riding style, and riding conditions often vary. While some find the TW31 tire suitable, it’s a frequently upgraded item.
Below are a few popular and well-tested front tire upgrade options:

Shinko 244 Series “Golden Boy” – 5.10-18 69P (slightly wider than the 4.60-18) This is my go-to tire choice. I use it around town, on backroads, trails, and most recently on the WABDR (on a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan). It has never let me down.
